PTSA MARKS AND THEIR LABELS, April 4, 2010
S Start, specifically the Start/Finish line pin.
(i.e. Port is the default way to start and to round a mark in our races. If the S were underlined, you would pass the pin to starboard when starting.)
F Finish, specifically the S/F pin. If F is followed by a number,
2 Go around course 2 times.
3 Go around course 3 times.
The following marks are usually yellow tetrahedrons and commonly used for triangle and windward/leeward courses. They may also be used to provide a shorter course for the small boats or a truer (to the wind) course for any class. They could be set up anywhere in the bay.
W Windward mark
J Jibing mark
L Leeward mark
